Project H.A.P.P.Y.

Serving the Under served?

While Ayanna and her associates will provide services to any women regardless of her economic status, this aspect was designed specifically to meet the needs of people who otherwise might not be able to have a doula.  Doula services can and will be provided to any person who wants one and participation is the clients decision.

  • All Project HAPPY clients will receive the same level of service, support, and assistance with the exception that the under served clients will also receive specialized and personalized mentoring, support, and education.  In home visits will cover pregnancy and postpartum related information. This is done so the client is equipped with a thorough knowledge of all of the topics covered, as they may not have access to the same resources as clients that have the means to get this type of support and education without this type of program, and they are able to establish a trusting relationship with their Doula.
  • Childbirth education classes are provided to under served clients for FREE as well as all other classes as part of our on going initiative to educate and empower these moms.
  • Labor and Delivery support is provided as well to help these moms who often receive substandard care to achieve a postive birth and have a positive experience.  While we do not guarantee any one specific birth outcome, we are there during the process to provide emotional, physical, and informational support.
  • All clients are encouraged to provide human milk to their infants and the Doula supports and educates the client through her breastfeeding journey.
  • Referrals and Resources are always available to anyone who needs them while signed on as a client.
  • Each client will also receive 1-2 postpartum follow up visits to assist with breastfeeding, newborn care, postpartum recovery, and assess and assist with postpartum depression.

Fees

The services provided to our under served clients are NEVER denied because of a client's inability to pay.  FREE and low cost services are available to those who qualify based on their income and done on a sliding scale. There is a process that clients applying for FREE and low cost services must go through to determine need and eligibility, but anyone interested in having a Doula should not allow cost to deter them from receiving help.
